Below we detail product updates for Studio and the mobile app scheduled for release in February 2021.
New Poll Types and Templates (Studio)
Version Note: new poll types and templates will be enabled for customers with users on mobile app 4.1.0 and up only. The new poll types are not compatible with mobile apps below 4.1.0.
Administrators and Program Managers can create new types of polls in Studio, including star rating, satisfaction, and yes/no polls. They can also leverage an updated library of 'recommended polls' which are fully editable pre-defined polls for common use cases like feedback on training or employee satisfaction.
Studio users can also leverage a Smart Campaign with a poll that will automatically encourage non-responders to complete a poll.
Poll reports will be available in the metrics panel of the poll editor.

Acknowledgment Goal for More Content Types
Version Note: acknowledgement goals for more content types will be enabled for customers with users on mobile app 4.1.0 and up only. The acknowledgement goal for video, link, note, and image cards is not compatible with mobile apps below 4.1.0.
Acknowledgment goals are now available for Smart Campaigns for video, link, note, and image content cards, in addition to articles. Depending on the content type, the ‘Acknowledge’ button will only appear if a user has:
- Watched the entire video
- Clicked the link
- Opened the note
- Viewed every image
An ‘Action Required’ label will appear on posts with an acknowledgement goal, to help users know that action is needed. This label will supersede a ‘Featured’ label, and will disappear once the post has been acknowledged.

Improved Deep Linking
The new mobile app makes it easier for users to access specific content or pages through a deep link and encourages mobile adoption for users who haven't yet downloaded the app.
These enhancements, available for multi-tenant ('FirstUp') & single-tenant (MDM etc.) mobile apps version 4.1.0 and above, include:
- Cutting and pasting a URL directly from a browser will deep link to the correct content.
- If a user needs to sign in to view the deep-linked content, they will be automatically redirected to the content after successfully signing in.
- If a user clicks on a deep link and they do not have the app downloaded, they will be directed to download the app.
- Users that share content will share the onfirstup.com URL (or vanity URL, if applicable):
- For users on 4.1.0 & above, ALL links will resolve to the program's URL.
- Previously used advocate.socialchorus.com URLs will still work as well.
- Many additional paths will deep link not just to content, but to other areas of the platform, like Discover, Profile, or Resources.
After the 4.1.0 release, the 'copy link' URL seen below will now be the onfirstup.com URL (or vanity URL, if applicable), matching the URL of the webpage. This means that a user can copy a link from either the copy link section, or directly from the browser.
For externally shareable content, the bitly URL will appear in the copy link section, but when it is pasted elsewhere, it will resolve to the program's URL.
For deep linking to areas of the platform that do not include content, all a user has to do is copy the browser link for the location they want to direct users, and use that link in the deep link.
Version Note: for users on a mobile app version below 4.1.0, only the advocate.socialchorus.com link will deep link as outlined in these release notes. 4.1.0 and above will resolve all links (advocate.socialchorus.com, onfirstup.com, and vanity URLs) as outlined in these release notes.
MDM Note: If you distribute your app via MDM, we encourage you to update your app to 4.1.0 for the best deep linking experience.
Attribute-Based Anonymization
In October 2020, we released a new option allowing Administrators and Program Managers to anonymize user-level data in Analyze. This month, we’re expanding this capability to allow you to anonymize a subset of employees who meet specific attribute-based criteria. For example, you can now choose to anonymize Analyze data only for users whose attribute 'Region' = 'Europe'. Please consult with your Engagement Manager to learn more.
Reinstate 'Quick Access' Metrics on Campaign List
The quick access metrics that appeared on the Campaign list screen, outlining how many users were targeted with a campaign, how many were delivered, and how many were opened, have been reinstated. Any Studio user with access to Connect will be able to see these metrics again.
Update to 'No Comment' Imagery on Web and Mobile
We’ve updated the design of opened content on the web and mobile app experience which does not have comments, to be in-line with our SocialChorus branding and aesthetics.
