Article templates change how the opened article content card appears in the web experience and mobile app. With our article templates, you have a variety of options to present engaging, digestible content with improved readability and a cleaner look and feel. Article templates make it easy and enjoyable for your employees to read company news and information, leading to better engagement and retention within the program.
Apply an Article Template
To select templates and preview the results, select the article template name in the body of the article, the preview button in the body of the article, or the preview icon (eye symbol) in the toolbar.
From the preview area, you can also open up the template selector to switch your template.
The list of templates in the template options window is affected by which templates have been added as described in Manage Article Templates below. Click between templates to view a preview of the selected template. Click use this template to exit the template options window or click the X icon in the top right corner.
Alternatively, you can publish the post with the new template applied and refresh your own employee experience (web or mobile app) to see exactly how the card will look.
Manage Article Templates
You can add, update, set as default, and archive article templates from the Templates page. Open the Templates page by selecting the top left menu and navigate to Publish > Templates.
When you open the Templates page, you are taken directly to the favorites tab which lists all templates that are available to your publishers while editing an article. In a brand new program, there may be no templates in the favorites or archived tabs. Click the get more button in the upper right hand corner of the page to add templates.
Get more will take you directly to the elements page. On the Elements page, you'll see a list of available templates that you can add or update. Once you add a template and the template is up to date, button will show a greyed out Added button.
From the Elements page, you can also click on any of the available templates to open up a preview of the template. From the preview, you can also add or update the template.
Back on the Templates page, click the three dots to the right of the template description to set default, view (preview), or archive a template.
Set default will make the default template pre-selected for all new articles. While editing an article, a Studio user can use Select Template to change the default to a different template.
Archive will move the template to the Archived tab and remove the template from the list of templates when editing an article. This prevents new articles from using the template. Existing articles that are using the template will continue to use the template. Once archived, the template will appear on the Archived tab and can be restored to active favorites at any time.
We are continuing to add more templates over time, please check the available templates under Get More for the most recent and up to date list of available templates.

If you would like to create your own article template to emphasize your brand or achieve an effect that the pre-existing templates do not have, please contact your program's Customer Success Manager to review pricing and next steps.
