We provide you with an Invitation Drip and Welcome Drip to help drive your success. Think of these drips as an automated workflow that is designed to drive adoption and engagement. You invite a user, then we encourage them to register and engage. It's that easy!
The best practice is to set up a repeating invitation email and also have both drips active at all times.
How Do Drips Work?
The Invitation Drip and Welcome Drip are two separate email campaigns. Together, the drips drive registration and retention.
When you send a user their first invitation from the Firstup platform, the user will enter the Invitation Drip and receive a series of different emails encouraging them to register.
When the user registers, the user will enter the Welcome Drip campaign and receive a series of emails designed to promote engagement.
First Invitation Details
The key to the 'first invitation' is that it comes from within our platform and the user changes from Created to Invited status.
You must set-up the first invitation in the platform separately from the drips. We recommend that you create a repeating invitation to catch all newly created users automatically.
There are other ways to invite a user through the Firstup platform, but they are manual and we do not recommend relying on them to drive registration. For example, if you invite a user from the Users page that will also qualify a user to enter the Invitation Drip.

Invitation Drip Campaign Details
The Invitation Drip is triggered by the event of a user being invited for the first time. The invitation must be sent through the Firstup platform using our invitation tools, as outlined above.
From the user’s perspective, the Invitation Drip emails look like invitations 2, 3, 4, and 5. In the default configuration, the four emails are sent out on a staggered schedule over the course of 24 days.
When does a user stop receiving the Invitation Drip emails? If the Invited user starts to register, the Invitation Drip will stop sending invitations to the user. If the user ignores all four emails, the campaign will end and the user will remain in Invited status. If you want to nudge these 'stuck' users to complete registration, we have outlined how to create a one-time Invitation Drip follow-up here.
Note, re-inviting users will NOT re-trigger the Invitation Drip. Users are pulled into the Invitation Drip based on the first invitation only. The good news is that users will only receive the emails in the Invitation Drip once. The bad news is that you deactivate the Invitation Drip, users that are invited while the drip is inactive cannot be pulled into the drip after it is activated. This is why we recommend that the drip remain active at all times.

Welcome Drip Campaign Details
The Welcome Drip is triggered by the event of a user registering. Each Welcome Drip email encourages users to take actions that we associate with retention such as filling out your profile or following topics.
